Sponsorships

Pyae came to live in the convent after his home burn down. He is in the fourth grade and is a very bright boy. He likes to play football.

Rang Yen is the youngest of four siblings. He has three older sisters. One sister has been married. His other two sisters work for the family. His parents cultivate Jum. Rang Yen likes to play soccer, and he would like to become a teacher in the future. 

Rebeca is the youngest of five siblings. Her parents are poor farmers. Their income is meager and not enough, and they cannot support all their children. She is a very good-natured and sweet-tempered girl. The sisters care for her school expenses and ask for help in that support.  

Reena is the oldest of two children coming from a poor family but her mother and father are daily laborers. Both girls are attending schooling at the local government school with help from the sponsorship program paying their tuition fees. Both girls are doing well in school and Reena has expressed interest in becoming a nurse one day.

Regina is from Nam Ma Kaw, Man Pan, Hsipaw Parish. Her parents are indigent farmers. She has four siblings. Her parents work day in and day out to try to support their family. Even with working so much they cannot afford to send their children to school because of the rarity and high cost of gas. Her parents are worried for their children's safety because armed soldiers have taken children from their village. Regina lives at the convent and attends school there, but the family cannot afford the boarding fees.

Resmin has three siblings. His older brother attends college, and her two younger sisters attend school but in different classes. Her family is very poor. Her father is a farmer, and her mother is a housewife. They also cultivate Jum. She loves to read different kinds of story books. He hopes to become a good nurse in the future.

Reynold Samuel is an intelligent boy and regularly goes to school.  He is in third grade, he enjoys learning math, and his favorite subject is social studies. His father depends on daily wages, and his mother is a housewife.  They do not have any other sources of income to meet the expenses for their son's education.

Ribaka is the youngest child of her parents. She has one brother named Sheshukumar, studying in tenth grade, and one elder sister, Ebsiba, who is in 7th grade. Their father is an alcoholic and can't hold down work, while their mother is a day laborer trying to support her family. 

Risita Mardy is one of three children coming from a poor family. She is in fourth grade, a very bright young girl, and does well in all her studies.   

Rosaria is the second daughter among five children. Her mother died six years ago while giving birth to her youngest daughter. Her father left the family leaving the children with no parents, her grandmother who is very sick brought the children to the hostel where they now live. Rosaria is now studying the seventh grade, she struggles in school but she is a healthy, happy and hardworking young lady. 

Rose is the first child of 3 in a poor family who lives in a distant village. Both parents are farmer who are hard working but cannot afford to pay for Rose's schooling.

Ruponti is a sweet young girl. She lives near the parish with her family. She has two brothers, and her parents work as day laborers. Ruponti likes to sing and play with her friends. Her surname tells us that she belongs to the Santal people, one of the many ethnic groups in the country.
