Fr. Michael D’Cruze recently updated us on the treatment, care and therapy the patients at Dhanjuri Leprosy Control Center (DLC) continue to receive. DLC is a charitable program of the Catholic Church of the Dinajpur Diocese in Bangladesh and serves people of all faiths in the diocese.

Fr. Michael thanked PIME USA donors for their support of the Center. He informed that in 2017-2018 the center cared for 225 new patients of which 197 completed treatment. Patients treated early who complete the full therapy suffer no disability, which is one of the Center’s goals. In addition, the Center admitted 73 patients to their hospital for a total of 3,407 days, treating and curing 72 lepers.

DLC’s operations include case detection, treatment, prevention of deformity, Community Based Rehabilitation and education to the community and patients. Thanks to your continued support the community of Dinajpur has a center committed to the prevention, treatment and education of leprosy.
