PIME Missionary Fr. Danilo Fenaroli has reported back to us on the $31,989 USD that the PIME US Mission Center and its supporters provided for the clean water project. Thanks to your generosity, Fr. Danilo has completed the wells so that over 3,000 people in the villages of Zarmazougui, Ligasang, and Mobono in Cameroon now have clean water. He informed us that the wells were dug to depths of 170-197 feet and the installation included an “India” type pump with stainless steel pipes, concrete wells/bases, and a water drainage channel.  Committees for the management of the wells were set up in each village, and training was given on their proper functioning and maintenance. Two people in each village were also instructed on diagnosing and intervening in case of problems and they received tools and materials for repairs, thus assuring their smooth operation

Fr. Danilo and the communities of  Zarmazougui, Ligasang, and Mobono are grateful to you for this most basic and life-giving resource. The precious gift of clean water has reduced water collection wait times and the workload of women and children who would otherwise travel miles in search of it.  Hygiene is ensured, there is water for people and livestock, and the possibility of contracting waterborne illnesses has been eliminated.  Thank you for your generous support of the most vulnerable for this most basic need!
