Barreirinha, is a municipality in the interior of the state of Amazonas, located in the remote micro-region of the city of Parintins, along the Amazon River in Brazil. This region is composed of Indigenous families and communities living in a dire state of poverty with houses built of wood that are flooded and washed away by the river during the rainy season.  Due to the lack of employment and other social and economic difficulties in this area, created by its isolated location, members of the community are extremely needy with low resources.

With this project of $6,444, PIME Missionary Fr. Suresh Kumar Dowluri, or Fr. Bosco as he is known, will support the Sisters of Mother Teresa (Missionaries of Charity) with the work they have been doing for nearly 25 years in this mission - feeding underprivileged children five days a week at their Soup Kitchen. The goal will be to feed, to bring hope, and to create moments of joy for 1,350 children and their families each month.
