Dhanjuri Leprosy Center Director and PIME Missionary, Fr. Livio Prete, is grateful to the PIME USA supporters who have helped in the fight against the disease. Fr. Livio updated us that thanks to your support, they have detected many cases of leprosy, treated many patients, and raised awareness of the disease.

In 2021, the Dhanjuri Leprosy Center detected 235 new cases and completed full treatment for 263 patients. They gave healing and ulcer care to 398 patients - 307 in the field and 91 at the hospital. They provided physical therapy to another 422 patients - 389 in the field and 33 at the hospital. In addition, they increased leprosy awareness and education through posters and print materials, school visits, and their presence in markets and villages.  Lastly, they held health camps for finding new cases, scheduled treatments and/or follow-ups, and made in-home visits.

Fr. Livio and the leprosy patients are blessed by your generosity in helping those suffering from Hansen’s disease.  Thank you for assisting those most in need through this project!
