Wankan Hostel Bathrooms Completed in Myanmar

Published Thu, Oct 24, 19. Written by Kathleen Connors.

Thanks to the help of PIME USA donors Fr. Camillo Lo has completed the renovation of the Wankan hostel bathrooms.  Fr. Camillo informs us the construction of the bathroom project went quickly, finishing in just a month. As the Wankan parish is one of the remotest areas of the Taunggyi Archdiocese transportation is more difficult, and materials are more costly. But with your help the children are now healthier and happier with their new bathrooms. Fr. Camillo tells us that parishioners in Wankan also feel morally supported. The parish and Fr. Camillo are extremely grateful to all of the PIME USA donors who supported this project, and they keep you in their daily prayers.

Wankan Hostel Renovation Completed in Myanmar

Published Fri, Oct 04, 19. Written by Kathleen Connors.

Thanks to the help of PIME USA donors, Fr. Camillo Lo has completed the much-needed renovation of the Wankan hostel for girls in Taunggyi, Myanmar.  They were able to complete it before the heavy rains that typically arrive in fall. Wankan is one of the remotest areas in the Taunggyi Archdiocese in Myanmar and transporting materials is difficult and expensive.  But now that the renovation is complete, the poor girls in the hostel can be more comfortable as well as their teachers.  The children and Fr. Camillo are in your debt, but you remain in their hearts and prayers for your generous support of this project.

Orphans Receive Beds from PIME USA Donors

Published Thu, Nov 01, 18. Written by Kathleen Connors.

Thanks to the kindness of PIME USA donors Sr. Cecil May has implemented the renovation of St. Francis Xavier’s Orphanage. The bedrooms of the orphanage have been equipped with bunk beds, so the children will no longer have to sleep on the floor. Sister also informed us that with the funds provided she was able to purchase 36 beds rather than the 32 initially anticipated. She also informed that the floors both inside and outside the orphanage building have been repaired.

With each child now sleeping in their own bed, the spread of disease is greatly reduced, and the newly repaired floors are smooth and neat. The living conditions of these poor children have been improved as well as their health. Sister Cecil May is grateful for the help of all those who supported this project of “prevention rather than remedy.”
