Sabitri Rani is in class II, she is doing well in her studies, but often struggles with new materials, but she always tries her best or ask for help when need. She is a very kind and curious girl.

Sai Hoi is the oldest. He has one younger sister and one younger brother. They are in school in different grades. The family is very poor; his parents are Jum cultivators, and it is their only income source. Sai Hoi likes to read science-related material and hopes to become a good teacher in the future. 

Sai is a very sweet little boy, he is shy at first but has a very big personality. He is in nursery and will soon be in kindergarten, he is very advanced for his age. He enjoys playing outside, drawing and coloring. 

Sandhya Rani is the middle child, having one younger and one older sister. Their mother is a housewife, and their father works as a driver, for which he is paid daily.  Education for the children is a challenge since the family does not have extra money.  Sandhya Rani likes the Telugu language, the color blue, horses, sweets, and cake. She goes to school regularly and attends church activities.

San Myo mother passed away when he was 10 years old, leaving his father to care for eight children by himself. San Myo is starting the fourth grade and is doing well in school. He is a kind boy and tries hard in everything that he does. He enjoys playing sports with his friends and siblings. 

Santhi Mary is from a very poor Catholic family. They have no house of their own. Her parents are illiterate and they are day laborers. Santhi Mary has a younger brother and sister. They are in 1st grade and 3rd grade in the government school in their village. Santhi Mary has a problem with her hearing. She has a hearing aid. She is smart and studies well. She participates in all church activities regularly.

Saragratut is a kind girl from the Kollani Village. She has two sisters. Saragratut likes to sing and dance with friends. Her parents can only work seasonally as the do not own any land and have to work for others. 

Saung Thazin is 2 years old and lives with her parents. She has two older brothers. Saung suffers from congenital club feet (both legs). Her parents work as day laborers and make charcoal but this income is low. Their financial situation is not good. A doctor, physiotherapist and CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation) visit the home twice a month to provide special education and physiotherapy intervention.

Saw Pyao Oo is 5 years old and lives with his parents. He is an only child. He likes cars. He suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. and epilepsy. His parents are farmers but do not own land so they rent land to plant. The family has been given two piglets to raise in order to increase their income. The family is very poor. A doctor, physiotherapist and CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation) visit the home twice a month to provide special education and physiotherapy intervention. 

Seng Kaung is from Kone Tar Village, Hsipaw Parish. She has four siblings. Her parents are day laborers. If they don't find any work for a day, they won't have any food to eat. In order to help her family, the sisters at the convent let Seng Kaung stay with them and go to school at the convent. 

Shen is a sweet girl, who has start pre kindergarten. She has three brother and three sisters. She lives with her family in the village but they have no home, so they move around from place to place within the village. They are very poor as her father is physically disabled and cannot work and her mother does not have a job. Although Shen has a tough life, she always tries her best. She is very smart and kind to those around her. She loves to help take care of her brothers and sisters, and likes to sing and dance with her friends.

Shikha is part of an ethnic group known as Paharia, one of many ethnic groups in the country.  She lives near the parish with her family. She has one brother and one sister.  Her mother is a housewife, and her father is a day laborer. They work seasonally for other people because they do not have their land. Shikha likes to dance and play with her friends.  Her name means flame.
