PIME Missionary Fr. Danilo Fenaroli works in the Far North region of Cameroon in Africa, where water is a scarce and precious resource. In this region, water determines every aspect of life from agricultural production and health to development and productivity. Without a stable source of water, agriculture and livestock production depends on rainfall, which is seasonal and unreliable with no source for irrigation. At certain times, rivers also dry up forcing women and children to travel great distances to obtain water of poor quality that impacts their health through parasites, infection, and disease; it is also highly time-consuming and unproductive. Lack of rainfall can lead to food shortages also impacting health. To all of this, the threat of terrorism is added from the Boko Haram sect that spread fear and crisis in this area.
In 2022 and 2023, the PIME US Mission Center and its supporters funded 6 wells for $66,570 with Fr. Danilo. Wells were dug in the villages of Zarmazougui, Ligasang, Mobono, Moudawa, Zouzoui, and Mahai benefitting over 7,900 residents. We continue to help Fr. Danilo provide water for three more villages: Magada, Broui, and Barawa chef. These 3 wells will be built for $11,793 per well in benefit of over 2,800 people. Can you help Fr. Danilo provide the most basic of needs to the people?

PIME Missionary Fr. Danilo Fenaroli has reported back to us on the $34,581 that the PIME US Mission Center and its supporters provided for the second implementation of the clean water project. Thanks to your generosity, Fr. Danilo has completed the wells so that over 4,900 people in the villages of Moudawa, Zouzoui, and Mahai in Cameroon now have clean water! Fr. Danilo informed us that due to the rocky soil, these new wells needed to be dug to depths of 197-250 feet and the installation included an “India” type pump with stainless steel pipes, concrete wells/bases, and a water drainage channel. As is their procedure, local committees for the management of the wells were set up in each village, and training was given on their proper functioning and maintenance. Two people in each village were instructed on diagnosing and intervening with any problems and they received tools and materials for repairs, thus assuring their smooth operation.
Fr. Danilo and the communities of Moudawa, Zouzoui, and Mahai are grateful to you for this life-giving basic need and all the benefits it brings to their lives and health.

Danilo has completed the wells so that over 3,000 people in the villages of Zarmazougui, Ligasang, and Mobono in Cameroon now have clean water. He informed us that the wells were dug to depths of 170-197 feet and the installation included an “India” type pump with stainless steel pipes, concrete wells/bases, and a water drainage channel. Fr. Danilo and the communities of Zarmazougui, Ligasang, and Mobono are grateful to you for this most basic and life-giving resource. The precious gift of clean water has reduced water collection wait times and the workload of women and children who would otherwise travel miles in search of it. Hygiene is ensured, there is water for people and livestock, and the possibility of contracting waterborne illnesses has been eliminated. Thank you for your generous support of the most vulnerable for this most basic need!
